Four Of Our Favorite Recipes With SaladPower

Emily Cooper, RDN of sinfulnutrition.com

Chill. Shake. Chug. Repeat. Now that you have the usual SaladPower routine down, we think it’s time to take your enjoyment up a level. Prepare to have your food mind blown with these four new ways to put your SaladPower to work.

Stir Fry with It

Being made with veggies naturally makes SaladPower a perfect pair to cook with them too. Add a bottle of our pineapple + veggies along with soy sauce, garlic, and black pepper to a saucepan, and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until thickened. Add in your favorite veggies, and quinoa or brown rice, toss, and serve, and you have one veggie-loaded meal made in no time.

You can even add in some chicken, beef or tofu to this dish for some extra protein, or even stuff it into peppers like our friend Ari did for one seriously satisfying dinner. The social media expert in our team of veggie minions says that bell pepper stuffed foods are really hot on right now, so make sure to cash in on that :-)

In reality, there’s not much out there that a sauce like this wouldn’t make taste awesome and nutrient-packed. We definitely recommend giving this a shot.

Blend It Into a Smoothie

We know, you’re still technically drinking it, but blending SaladPower into a smoothie is so much more than the usually chug and go routine. Replace the usual milk or water with a bottle of SaladPower in your favorite smoothie recipe to add some serious nutrition post-workout or for a quick and easy breakfast on the go. Plus, you won’t have to deal with those dreaded bits of unblended spinach leaves and celery strings that are forever haunting your veggie-loaded smoothies...and your dreams. Or is that just us?!

Heres a good recipe to get your started: A raspberry mango smoothie bowl from our friend Gracie!

Blend:

About 1/3 cup of frozen roasted purple sweet potato

1/2 cup frozen steamed cauliflower

1/4 cup of frozen raspberries

1/2 tsp of fresh ginger

2 tbsp of nutiva hemp protein

1 tbsp of chia seeds

1/4 avocado

1/2 tsp of maca

And finally 1/2 a bottle of the SaladPower Veggies + Mango

Topped with Purely Elizabeth grain free granola, Jem Organics cashew cardamom almond butter, hemp seeds and raspberries!

Sauté with Veggies

Skip the oil and butter next time, and sauté your veggies in...well more veggies! Use a splash of SaladPower Just Veggies to sauté your favorite vegetables for an easy and low calorie option. Plus, does your butter have 4890% of your daily recommended vitamin C? I think not. Check out this awesome recipe that our favorite vegan home girl Jasmine aka Sweet Simple Vegan created:

Replace Stock in Soups

While we suggest drinking SaladPower icy cold straight from the bottle, it makes a stellar stand-in for broths and stocks in soups too. Replace half or even all of the broth you usually use in your favorite soup, stew, or chili recipe with SaladPower. Not only are you adding more veggies without even realizing it, but SaladPower is also low in sodium, which soups are notorious for being chockfull of. Double nutrition, less sodium, and more flavor. Need we say more?

Understanding the "Naturalistic Fallacy"

The Naturalistic Fallacy is a philosophical concept that what is found in nature is “pleasurable” and therefore “ethical” and anything that is “not pleasurable” is “unethical”. This coincides with the notion in the world of health and wellness that you should only purchase raw and organic foods with a short list of ingredients that you can pronounce. Though this may be true in some cases when it comes to food, it isn’t always accurate and in fact can be dangerous if you blindly follow this philosophy. We call this the Naturallistic Fallacy in the world of food. Continue reading to find out why!
